MORE THAN JUST A POLICY
These 3 resources cover everything you need to know for developing a drug policy for a youth organisation. The highly practical guidelines, workbook and evaluation guide were developed by Health Action Trust (CAYAD Nelson).
When One Door Closes
This report summarises what happens when students are excluded from school, and provides recommendations that now underpin CAYAD's approach to supporting students to stay engaged in education. The research was undertaken by Regional Public Health (CAYAD Hutt Valley).
Keeping students engaged in education - discussion guide
If you are concerned about an application for a new or renewed alcohol licence in your community, this handy guide is available from the Health Promotion Agency's alcohol.org.nz. It can help you decide whether to make an objection to a licence, and leads you through the objection and hearings process under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
CUPIT - a cannabis use problems test
CUPIT is a validated, short check up on cannabis use, aiming to minimise drug-related harm for young people. Rosey Duncan from CAYAD Nelson developed the wristbands to help promote CUPIT. Click the image for information on using CUPIT, including validation of the test and how to order the wristbands.
This tool provides useful ways to talk about drugs without stigmatising people who use drugs.
